Last weekend, Lauryn Hill performed at the Harmony Festival in Santa Rosa, CA. Hill performed her hit song, “Doo Wop (That Thing)” and the Fugees hit, “Fu-Gee-La”.

R.Kelly opened the FIFA World Cup recently in South Africa with a spirited performance of his song, “Sign of Victory,” along with the Soweto Spiritual Singers. ”Sign of Victory” is the official anthem of the 2010 World Cup.

Prince celebrated his 52nd birthday Monday by releasing a new track, “Hot Summer” to Minnesota public radio station, the Current. The Purple One is also featured on the July cover of Ebony magazine where he discusses being a Jehovah’s Witness and his love life.
In other Purple news,the funk band The Time fronted by Morris Day, will be releasing a new album this year, Billboard reports. The group is currently on the four-date Stingy Tour, which ends with a homecoming show on June 13 in Minneapolis.
“It’s good creative fuel for us to perform live,” producer and keyboardist Jimmy “Jam” Harris said ”and then we can get back in the studio and bring that energy with us.”
Chamillionaire’s home in Houston was recently repossessed by the bank. The rapper told TMZ.com that he allowed the 7,583 sq. foot mansion to be taken because the recent housing downturn made the home a bad business investment. Chamillionaire, whose real name is Hakeem Seriki, purchased the house in 2006 for around $2 million.
“I was always on the road touring” the rapper said. ”I just didn’t feel like it was a good business investment to pay that much mortgage for a house I was never at.”
Chamillionaire claims he is doing well financially: “I still got all the cars.”

Kanye is back with the uptempo track, “Power,” from his upcoming album, Good Ass Job. Soul singer Dwele joins him on the song that was produced by Symbolyc One and samples British rock band King Crimson’s “21st Century Schizoid Man.”
“Power’s” title comes from the song’s chorus in which Kanye says, “I guess every superhero needs his theme music/No one man should have all that power.”
West also hits back at Saturday Night Live for the show’s skit about the rapper’s incident at the MTV awards last September in which he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech. “F— SNL and the whole cast,” he says.
It’s official. After five years of marriage, Nas and Kelis are now divorced. According to TMZ, the marriage ended last Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Currently, Nas was ordered to pay $10,000 monthly in child and spousal support. The two are expected back in court for child and spousal support claims.

Jay-Z will rumble with the bee..the Queen Bee Lil’Kim. He’s signed the pint-sized rapper to his Roc Nation music label, reports Source magazine. Jay-Z is also expected to executive produce her new album.
Beyonce is a drinking, smoking housewife looking for love while dusting off her Grammys in her new video, “Why Don’t You Love Me.” The single was written by Beyonce , her sister Solange and her cousin Angie. It is a bonus track from the 2009 re-release of I Am… Sasha Fierce.
