Janet Jackson, her brothers Randy and Jermaine and their parents were at a Los Angeles courthouse Monday for the hearing of Dr. Conrad Murray. Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter for the death of Michael Jackson. At the hearing, the judge postponed a decision on Dr. Murray’s medical license in the state of California.
Kanye West later apologized for interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for best female video and Pink took to the air to perform her hit “Sober.” Other highlights included a disturbing performance by Lady Gaga of her single “Papparazi” and Lil Mama deciding to join Jay-Z and Alicia Keys uninvited for their performance of the rapper’s song, “Empire State of Mind.”
Beyonce gave a rousing performance of “Single Ladies.”
Last Thursday, the King of Pop was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Los Angeles. Family friends who attended the funeral of Michael Jackson included: Elizabeth Taylor, Lisa Marie Presley, Macaulay Culkin, Gladys Knight, Rev. Al Sharpton and Chris Tucker.
Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine, was awarded full custody Monday of the entertainer’s three children: Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II (a.k.a. “Blanket”), 7. Debbie Rowe, the mother of Jackson’s two oldest children received visitation rights. The mother of the Blanket has never been revealed.
The Jackson family patriarch, Joe Jackson, returned to their hometown of Gary, Ind. for a memorial service Friday for the King of Pop. Twenty Jackson cousins were also there to greet him at the 6,000-seat stadium, reports People. Although most of the cousins have not kept in touch with the Jackson clan, they still felt the loss.
“We might not have seen him in 10 or 15 years, but it’s still family,” said Fossett Turner, 55. “You don’t see him, but that doesn’t mean the love isn’t there.”

A memorial service is now planned for Michael Jackson. Fans can log in to the Staples Center website for a chance to get one of the 17,500 tickets to the memorial service or to watch the simulcast across the street at the Nokia Theatre Tuesday in Los Angeles.

President Barack Obama, who sent a private condolence letter to the Jackson family, spoke publicly about the death of Michael Jackson Thursday.
“I’m glad to see that he is being remembered primarily for the great joy that he brought to a lot of people through his extraordinary gifts as an entertainer,” Obama said in an AP interview.
The president said he grew up on Jackson’s music and “I still have all his stuff on my iPod.”
“I think that Michael Jackson will go down in history as one of our greatest entertainers,” Obama said. “His brilliance as a performance also was paired with a tragic and in many ways, sad personal life.”
