The media has been invited to cover the Kanye West Spring/Summer 2012 fashion show on Oct. 1, the
Boston Globe reports.
The debut of West’s fashion collection has been rumored for months and the rap star recently attended the Burberry runway show in London.

Baby Phat founder Kimora Lee Simmons is leaving the company she launched 14 years ago.
“After 14 years of conceiving and nurturing Baby Phat, it’s time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses and create a new phenomenon,” Simmons said. “I adore all those who have faithfully been with me since the beginning.
“I’m forever dedicated to my family, fans and customers,” Simmons said. “My inspiration has always come from the fabulous women who have been with me through the years as we’ve grown from young party girls to power players! We’re ready for our next journey together and we’re taking a whole new generation of incredible young women with us. Girl power unite!”
Simmons’ empire includes KLS collection, Kouture by Kimora and Fabulosity. She is currently filming the fourth season of her Style Network reality series, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane.

Beyonce has been named the spokeswoman for the “Fashion for Haiti” T-shirt by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The proceeds from each $25 tee will be donated to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund.
“Join me and the fashion industry by buying and wearing the Fashion for Haiti T-shirt,” Beyonce said. ”Together we can send a message of hope by raising much needed funds for the people of Haiti.”

Rapper and actor Common will work with Diesel to introduce the new men’s cologne, “Only the Brave,” reports Billboard. The Chicago native will appear in print and TV ads and perform in select Diesel stores nationwide.
“Common perfectly represents the spirit and energy of ‘Only The Brave’ fragrance: passion, will and conviction,” Diesel president Renzo Rosso said in a statement. “He’s in control of his own destiny and has made his mark in all of his pursuits, creating changes through every effort and every medium.”
“I wanted to partner with Diesel because that’s really what I’m about too – to be an individual and an artist, it takes both bravery and courage,” Common said.
Common will also work with Microsoft to promote Softwear, a T-shirt line about the popularity of personal computers. The T-shirts, which were designed by Common, are available in retail stores.

Hip-hop Russell Simmons, who designs Phat Farm apparel, will bring his fashion sense to a Wal-Mart near you. The American Classics clothing line will launch in 350 stores nationwide within the next few weeks and is available on walmart.com, reports the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper. The clothing appears to be preppy urban with prices ranging from a $9 T-shirt to a $29 hooded jacket.
