Kunta Kinte has been harmed again.  LeVar Burton, star of “Roots” and “Reading Rainbow” was injured in car accident after a 74-year-old woman turned left in front of his vehicle while driving in Los Angeles Monday night.  The collision caused a five-car pileup with no serious injuries.  The 52-year-old said he suffered from neck pain and was treated and released from a local hospital, reports People.

There was a lot of butt and crotch grabbing going on while Halle Berry and Jamie Foxx shared a very intimate kiss during Spike TV’s “Guy Choice Awards,” which will air late June.  Foxx presented Berry with the “Decade of Hotness” award.

“Obsessed,” the movie starring Beyonce Knowles and Idris Elba, debuted no. 1 at the box office this weekend, raking in $28.5 million.  The two star in the Sony Screen Gems movie as a married couple that faces trials when a psychotic temp played by Ali Larter begins stalking the husband.

Kal Penn, who starred as Kumar in the movie, “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle,” is now part of the Obama administration.  Penn most recently had a recurring role on the FOX series, “House.”  There is no start date yet for his new job as associate director in the Office of Public Liaison.  Penn will connect President Obama with the Asian-American and Pacific-Islander communities plus the arts & entertainment groups.

Taye Diggs, 38, and his wife Idina Menzel, 37, are expecting their first baby later this year, reports People magazine.  The couple met while performing in the 1996 Broadway production of Rent and married in 2003.  Diggs currently costars on the ABC drama, “Private Practice.”

Salli Richardson-Whitfield,41, and her husband actor Dondre Whitfield,39, welcomed their new son, Dre Terrell Whitfield, Saturday, Jan. 24.

The couple, who has been married since September 2002, has a three-year-old daughter, Parker.
